Whitmer Celebrates Promise of 195 Jobs, While Over 800,000 Created In 2019
On Dec. 3, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony to promote a $1 million state subsidy from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, a state agency, to EOI Pioneer, a manufacturer of solid state lighting products and components. The company projects that its expansion in the Monroe County village of Dundee will create as many as 195 new jobs.
By comparison, Michigan’s economy lost 805,976 jobs and also gained 820,173 jobs in 2019. Overall, the state’s economy had 4.4 million jobs in 2019.
