Steady Enrollment, More Teachers: The State of Kentwood Public Schools
The number of teachers on the payroll of Kentwood Public Schools rose from 512 in the 2017-18 to 577 in 2020-21, an increase of 13%. The figure fell modestly this year, down 20 teachers to 557.
Enrollment in the Kent county district rose over those four years by just 1%, or 96 students, from 9,146 in 2017-18 to 9,242 last year. Enrollment figures for 2021-22 have not been released yet.
