Wealthy community’s school funding less rich
Public schools in Michigan spent an average of $13,315 per student in 2018-19. That includes money from local, state and federal sources.
The Detroit Public Schools Community District spent $16,506 per student. Grosse Pointe Public Schools spent $14,442 per pupil.
