Former chief says they make it 'almost impossible to fire and hold officers accountable'
Former Detroit Police Chief Isaiah McKinnon wrote a June 11 op-ed in the Detroit Free Press calling for changes police departments after the death of George Floyd.
One of McKinnon’s recommendations:
“Rehabilitation within police unions. Their intransigence makes it almost impossible to fire and hold officers accountable for breaking the law and the public’s trust.”
