People Collecting Unemployment In State Tops 1 Million
More than 1 million people are collecting unemployment benefits in Michigan, up from 88,183 just five weeks earlier.
There are 1,041,344 people collecting unemployment in Michigan as of the week of April 25, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. As of the week of March 21, there were 88,183 people collecting unemployment benefits.
Before this year, the highest number of Michigan residents collecting unemployment benefits was 363,212 in January of 2009.
