Albert Lorenzo is a deputy county executive for Macomb County, a position that pays him $72,016 a year. He was hired in 2019.
Lorenzo is also collecting $224,028 a year from a public school pension acquired over 29 years as president of Macomb Community College. Lorenzo is currently the highest paid beneficiary of the Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System.
The public school retirement system is $33.8 billion short of the amount actuaries estimate is needed to pay for the pensions of employees.
