Michigan Media Makes More Scary COVID Claims Not Supported By Data
A story published April 24 by the statewide news site MLive said, “So the fact that Michigan emergency departments and COVID-19 inpatient units are overflowing with patients is a huge source of frustration for many health professionals, who say we now have the tools to end the pandemic.”
The state of Michigan tracks emergency room numbers. As of April 21, 1% of emergency room visits were due to COVID-19 symptoms, according to the state website.
A survey found the statewide hospital bed occupancy rate to be 78% as of April 19. Three out of the 134 hospitals surveyed were at 100% capacity.
