Lawsuit Lockdown Victory: But For Just One Illinois Politician
U.S. Congressman Paul Mitchell, a Republican from Dryden, has filed a lawsuit claiming Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s executive orders violate his constitutional rights.
The Detroit News reported that Mitchell was acting in his capacity as an individual.
Illinois State Rep. Darren Bailey, a Republican from Xenia, Illinois, filed a lawsuit in April against Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s stay-at-home order that was extended in that state through May 30.
According to WMAQ, a judge granted a temporary restraining order that exempts only Bailey from having to stay-at-home.
