Iowa Drops Mask Mandate, Cases Plummet
Media silent on case decline after repeal
Four states that imposed face mask mandates on the general public have discontinued the policy, according to the American Association of Retired Persons.
Those states are Montana, Iowa, North Dakota and Mississippi. On March 10 Texas becomes the fifth state to drop its mask mandate.
In Iowa, the mask mandate was lifted on Feb. 7.
On Feb. 6, Iowa there were 742 daily individuals who received a positive result on a COVID-19 test (seven-day average). By March 8 the daily positive test figure had fallen to 463, a 38% drop since the mask mandate was lifted. However, the city of Des Moines kept its own mask mandate. That data is according to the New York Times.
