Dance Studio Latest Victim Of Governor’s Lockdowns
‘I am officially announcing the permanent closure of my studio’
The Ravenna Dance Factory, a professional dance studio in Ravenna, Michigan, has announced it is closing for good, thanks to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s most recent executive order.
The Muskegon County business posted on its Facebook page: “Previous Orders have been vague, confusing and open to interpretation; this particular document is clear and direct with regard to dance studios and indoor dance activities. Unfortunately, the studio will be shutting down starting tomorrow, Monday August 3, as these types of businesses must be 'closed to the public for entry, use and/or occupancy.’”
The post continued: “Additionally, it is also with VERY heavy heart that I am officially announcing the permanent closure of the studio. My heart is broken, and I'm sure this will be just as upsetting for the dancers. ... Sadly, with the tightening of restrictions and my steadily decreasing number of students, the closure is inevitable.”
