Former Assistant to the President
Kendra L. Shrode was assistant to the president of the Mackinac Center for Public Policy until November 30, 2015. She was employed with the Center since March 1992, having served as its office manager and later as its vice president for operations before assuming her current post in July 2000. In those capacities, she has supervised staff, project scheduling and financial record maintenance. She has also directed the Center's highly acclaimed annual high school debate workshop.
As assistant to the president, Shrode handled the president's scheduling, appointments and communications; served as a member of the Center's senior management steering team; and worked as a liaison between the president and the Center's board of directors and board of advisors.
Shrode graduated magna cum laude from Saginaw Valley State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing. She is a member of Alpha Chi, the national college honor scholarship society. Her prior work experience includes positions in corporate managing and marketing departments.
