The (Optimistic) State of America 'After Leviathan'
Lunch event: Author Kevin D. Williamson coming to Michigan
Kevin D. Williamson, a roving correspondent for National Review, is coming to Michigan to discuss his optimistic view about how the lives of Americans will be better after what he sees at the inevitable collapse of today's social/corporate welfare Leviathan.
He will speak at a lunch event sponsored by the Mackinac Center for Public Policy and the National Review Institute on Sept. 11 at the Country Club of Lansing. Registration and information can be found here.
Williamson is the director of the William F. Buckley Jr. Fellowship in Political Journalism at the Institute and an author. His presentation is titled "After Leviathan."
He is the author of the book "The End Is Near and It's Going to Be Awesome: How Going Broke Will Leave America Richer, Happier, and More Secure." According to the book description, "Williamson offers a radical re-envisioning of government, a powerful analysis of why it doesn’t work, and an exploration of the innovative solutions to various social problems that are spontaneously emerging as a result of the failure of politics and government."
The event is also sponsored by Joseph Maguire, a third-generation Michigan family businessman and second-generation Mackinac Center Board member, to recognize those who are part of the Mackinac Center Legacy Society.
